Welcome to Green Mountain Fibers & Yarn
NEW! Knitters Trip to Ireland
November 9-17, 2012
Here's the trip you've been waiting for! We've worked hard on the itinerary and the pricing; and thanks to the help of the Irish Tourism Board, we've put together an absolutely wonderful fiber-focused tour of Ireland's west coast, including a stop at famous Kylemore Abbey (shown at right in a snapshot from our 2008 trip). Fun, friends, fabulous fibers, new techniques (I learned to "bobble on the bus" in Ireland) - what more could you want?
For those who haven't heard the story, the 2008 trip provided the impetus for Mary Jeanne and Kathleen to open Green Mountain Fibers. We welcomed our first knitters on November 28, just five short weeks after our return on October 20. It's been an amazing journey ever since... can't wait to see the inspiration that unfolds in November 2012.

Stop in for ideas on your next knitting project this season! You will especially want to see the Log Cabin Afghan, a Noro creation. You can start now, knit all year long, and be ready for Christmas 2012. Or, you can follow Brenda's example (I think it's called "sleep knitting" or perhaps "speed sleeping") and finish in a few weeks. We're certainly grateful to have it hanging in the shop!
Happy Spring Knitters!
Check out our Classes & Events page for upcoming opportunities.
Our helmet liner project has come to an end and we extend our thanks to all who contributed to this effort. Since this project began, our knitters and friends from around the region made and delivered over 1,200 helmet liners! This has been a wonderful community activity for knitters around the country. We are pleased to have been a part of the project in support of our Vermont National Guard troops. Many thanks as well to our "military moms" whose sons and daughters serve our country.
