Pre-registration for classes is greatly appreciated. Please call and let us know if you’d like to reserve a space in class. We need 3 days to add additional staff if necessary. Materials for classes is available at 10% off. Class prices are as follows: one session class: $15; two session class: $25; three session class: $35.

If you can’t make our schedule fit yours, or if you just prefer a private lesson, we’ll be happy to schedule some quality knitting time for you. $20.00 per hour.

Have you caught the Noro square bug? Lap blanket or King size all are welcome for company, conversation, and comparing notes. Free.
Beginner Two-handed Colorwork
Friday, February 3, 10:30-noon
Learn to use two hands to separately knit two colors of yarn to make a cute baby, toddler, or child sized fruit hat. Homework: please knit your hat up to the leaf portion, (hint: measure work without unrolling the natural brim curl, or you will be tugging on your hat for years to come.)
Log Cabin Blanket Finishing
Friday, February 9, 1-5:30pm
Get help finishing your masterpiece the way you want. Learn the three-needle bind off, kitchener stitch, even I-cord edging for the brave and the strong. Your beautiful blanket will be keeping you warm before you know it.
Espresso Coffee and Entrelac
Saturdays, February 4 & 11, 10-noon
Everyone who sees our Noro entrelac sample wants to make one so we had to bring this class back. Learn to knit triangles, squares, backwards, and more. Noro recommended, and how could that be bad?
Learn to Fix Mistakes
Saturday, February 4, 4-5:30pm
Rescue dropped stitches in pattern, even right down to the cast on, fix miss-crossed cables, rip back without dropping any stitches. Homework before class: Knit a large swatch in worsted weight (or larger) smooth light-colored yarn, especially good if knit in several sections of different stitches, ie stockinette stitch, garter stitch.
New Section of Knitting 101
Saturdays, February 18, 25, and March 3, 10am-11:30
Learn how to cast-on, knit. Purl, and bind-off. Learn about tension, and knitting to gauge.
Beginning Socks
Tuesdays, Feb 7, 14, 21, 5:30-7pm.
Using a basic sock pattern you’ll learn to make socks of double pointed needles. The first night learn to cast on, join in the round, and knit the cuff and leg. On the second night Mary will show you how to set up, turn the heel, and shape the gusset. The final class teaches you to complete the foot & toe.
Socks in 4 Hours-
Monday, February 6, 1pm-5pm
For those with scheduling challenges, learn to knit a baby size sock in worsted weight yarn in one class. Yes, you can complete it in the scheduled time frame, in a baby size. Your choice of needles, 2 circulars, magic loop, or dpns. Class size is limited.

Marina & Warren Shumway, our Cascade representatives will be bringing samples of yarn for us to try, sample garments, and will be holding a drawing for free yarn. Bring two or three sets of your own needles to knit with. We will have refreshments, including cheese & crackers, wine, sparkling juices, and cookies. . 20% off of all Cascade Yarns during the Yarn Tasting.

Sit & Knit-Sunday afternoons, 1-5pm, and Monday 6-8:30pm
Sit & Knit is a great time to make some progress on a project, especially one you don’t want someone in your family to see yet.
If you have a knitting group that would like to meet in our shop, please call us to make arrangements. We are happy to accommodate knitters most anytime. The coffee and/or tea are always on and there are goodies on occasion too.
SPINNING!
There has been tremendous interest in spinning and we have several folks who are pleased to do demonstrations with the wheels that are in the store. If you've seen a demonstration or given spinning a try, and would like to take a spinning lesson, please call the store (802-775-7800) to schedule a time. If you're interested in purchasing a spinning wheel from Louet, talk to us about that too and we'll try to work with you.
